I had another one of those crazy dreams last night that traverse time and space.
In my dream, my best fried from high school and I were living in Carbondale, Illinois, where my cousin was going to college. (Mind you Jeff never lived in Carbondale and my cousin Rachel finished school nearly 20 years ago).
One of my favorite bands – Dan Reed Network – was coming to town for two shows. My cousin Rachel got tickets with her friends to the Saturday show. Jeff got tickets to go alone on Sunday. I forgot to get tickets and didn’t realize it until the day of the first concert.
In real life, Dan Reed is actually a friend of mine. We talked about working on a potential composing project a few years ago. He’s a great guy.
Anyway, that friendship transferred through time and space to the point in alternative history that the dream takes place in. So, I figured I would email Dan and get comps for one of the two dates.
That’s where I ran into a problem. I couldn’t remember what old email account I had been communicating with Dan through. In fact, I couldn’t even remember what service provider the email account was through, much less the address and password.
I tried every email provider I could think of, and I couldn’t find the address to get in touch with Dan through and I missed the concert.
I woke up very disappointed and unfulfilled.
Note to self – don’t wait until the last minute to email a rock star for free concert tickets.
Peace. Love. Trust.
