Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson is an Idiot

I lived in Wisconsin for a year and had done some theater work there years before that. I liked the small town feel of every town in Wisconsin. However, times have changed. If Senator Ron Johnson is any indication of the warped politics coming out of there now, I am glad I am no longer a Wisconsin resident.

Senator Johnson of Wisconsin is now making headlines as an idiot trying to peddle the hysterical conspiracy theory that the Trump followers in the deadly attack on the Capitol were actually fake Trump supporters. Yes, according to Johnson, Biden supporting Democrats protested his election and then led a violent insurrection to stop the counting of the votes that confirmed that he won. Huh?

If you’re having trouble wrapping your mind around that ball of yarn, you’re not alone. Especially since authorities have over 200 arrests of those involved in Trump’s attempted insurrection, and all of them have been identified as Trump supporters.

Either Senator Johnson is the stupidest person to ever hold office, or he knows full well he is peddling a wheelbarrow full of Grade A bullshit.

Trump lost the election by 7 million votes. It wasn’t even close. He also lost the electoral college. Again, it wasn’t close.

After losing the election, Trump spread false rumors that there had been widespread voter fraud. The fact that these allegations are 100% false is confirmed by Trump’s own Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council. The CGC declared there was no evident of any voter fraud in the 2020 election. In fact, the agency issued a statement that the election was “the most secure in American history.”

Indeed, even Bill Barr, Trump’s handpicked Attorney General, released a statement that the U.S. Justice Department has uncovered no evidence of widespread voter fraud that could change the outcome of the 2020 election.

The courts, packed with Trump appointed judges, scolded him for wasting their time in over 60 cases in which he tried to overturn the lawful election results but could produce no evidence. Even the Supreme Court, again packed with Trump nominees, stated that his argument had no basis. Yes, even the Supreme Court called Trump a liar.

What did Trump do? He fired up the gullible sheep that make up his base, and encouraged them to stage a violent, deadly insurrection to take over the government on January 6, 2021. Thankfully that act of domestic terrorism was thwarted, but not without the loss of lives.

The game Senator Johnson is playing is a dangerous one. Supporting the lies of a man who was impeached for inciting the deadly failed coup is not the actions of an honorable man.

Stooges like Senator Ron Johnson need to be removed from office. He is either out of touch with reality or he is purposefully trying to change history. That means he’s either crazy or guilty of treason for continuing to support a failed coup.

Johnson also made headlines in 2020 in the Kyle Rittenhouse case in which a 17-year-old Illinois resident and outspoken Trump supporter traveled to Wisconsin and shot and killed two protesters. The peaceful protests were in response to a police shooting of an unarmed black man.

In a CNN interview, Senator Johnson was repeatedly offered the opportunity to condemn Rittenhouse’s murder of two unarmed protesters but refused to. Rittenhouse is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and related gun charges.

People like Senator Ron Johnson are a danger. There are dimwitted people who will believe the lies that people like Johnson tell, the same way that there were dimwitted people who believed Trump’s lies. Rittenhouse is an example of that.

Senator Johnson is a cancer to the beautiful state of Wisconsin. Like any cancer, he should be removed.

Peace. Love. Trust.
